We would like to recognize the following organizations for supporting our efforts.
For the past 34 years, our most consistent support has come from the faith community. This past year, three congregations have stepped forward to make a donation to the PPJPC and help form a “Faith Partners” council to network activists and find new ways to collaborate. First Congregational United Church of Christ, High Plains Unitarian-Universalist Church and All Souls Unitarian-Universalist Church have active social concerns committees and invite other congregations to join in the network. For more information on how your congregation can become a “Faith Partner,” contact Steve Saint.
Support Pikes Peak Justice and Peace Commission through Community Shares of Colorado: If your place of employment has a Community Shares Program, consider donating to the Commission through this workplace program (www.cshares.org). It’s a great help to the Commission! You can help even more by telling your co-workers about their opportunity to support the Commission.
RESIST funds activist organizing and education work within movements for social change.
RESIST began in 1967 with a “call to resist illegitimate authority” in support of draft resistance and in opposition to the Vietnam War. That history sustains us as our movement evolves and as our concerns broaden and deepen. We remember what it is like to move forward and beat the odds.
